Under sustained pressure to keep costs low while increasing efficiency, over the past few years crystalline silicon PV manufacturers have increasingly turned to passivated emitter rear contact (PERC) PV designs. The technology offers modest efficiency increases with only a few additional tools and minor changes to existing cell processes, and as such PERC has been a popular upgrade for many companies.

PERC stands for Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell which has been successfully transferred to mass production of PERC solar cells. Underpinning the new record for p-type multicrystalline solar cells has been the continued quality improvements of multicrystalline wafers that have helped pushed standard 60-cell polycrystalline solar panels from 260W to 290W in recent years.

This family of high-performance solar panels with power up to 290W provides the most cost-effective solution for lowering the LCOE of any PV systems large or small.
